I don't want to consider random acts of kindness as something extraordinary because i want them to be normal. a lot of people are so anti-social without even noticing it but seriously how hard is it to do something nice, the smallest things could easily make someone's day but most people seem to be far too self-absorbed to even consider doing it. i always try to make as much random acts of kindness. yes i like to be the weird girl who runs after you ten blocks just because you dropped something and didn't notice. xD

I got something a friend and I did once.

It was ... sometime in late April. I was really restless and couldn't sleep. It was like 3 AM and I was still awake and on my laptop. I was talking to one of my friends on AIM who is just a night owl and is always up at 3 AM anyway. He suggested we go for a walk as it might help me relax. It sounded like a good idea so I agreed.

We ended up walking into downtown Marquette. It was kinda cool. The city was dead, no cars driving, no noise, no people. The peace was kinda nice.

As we were walking, he spotted a dollar on the ground, so he picked it up. Further ahead, there was another dollar, so I picked it up. A little bit further ahead, another piece of paper was fluttering down the sidewalk. It wasn't cash, but someone's paycheck.

It wasn't for very much money (maybe $40), but it was already signed and everything. Anyone could have taken it to the bank and kept the money.

We figured it was in someone's back pocket and they lost it and the couple dollars while looking for something, so we picked it up and checked it out. The person's address was on there. We figured out where we were and realized it was the next street over. So we ran around the block and down the street until we found the right address.

It looked like a duplex, and the front door was unlocked and there were mailboxes just inside the door. We looked for the person's name and stuck the check inside her mailbox.

I think she must have been pleasantly surprised when she got her mail the next day. :)

I agree with you. They shouldn't be considered something extraordinary, these should be normal. The world's turning into a less friendly place...

And that's really nice, Water!

aw water that's sweet. i'm sure the person was really thankful. and i believe it really makes thing a bit better. another thing i love that how cliché it sounds when people say 'all things you give will ultimately get back to you' i thought it  sounded sweet but i didn't really cared. but a week ago or so i had exams and a girl forgot her ummm what do you call it...set triangle? and i was done and so the teacher asked me if she could borrow mine. well sure. but when the test was done the girl was still busy so i just figured ah the heck with it i'll just let her keep it and i'll buy a new one. then later that day  i found another one in another classroom, i laughed.

Awww so many sweet stories. <3

And I agree, Nade. This thread is for the little things as much as the big things. :D
