Anybody know of something I could download that would help capture video on my computer? (I have a Macbook)
Preferably something that I don't have to buy, and something that is proven to be safe (no virus, plz! XD)

I'm trying to make a video for youtube, but I need to record stuff off my computer screen, since I can no longer record from my TV.

Thanks, guys!!

You mean, recording a video on your desktop...?

All I can suggest is getting a livestream account and downloading Livestream Procaster, which has a desktop sharing attachment to it. I'm pretty sure there's a record button, but I don't know if you can make it only record a certain section of the screen or not.

Good luck!

Try iMovie or something like that.

Chaka: Thanks! I might try that... I think one of my friends has a livestream, so I can ask her to test that :)

InuKago: I use iMovie regularly, which is how I know it has no screencapture. Thanks anyway!

I'm not sure if it works on Mac, but Debut Video is a pretty good program. It can capture video from your desktop as well as a webcam, and has a snapshot feature. It also records in formats that are more easy to edit and play in most programs.

This program is amazing. I used it for a while and then got rid of it cause I had no use for it, but it's awesome. Just what you're looking for. It's not an open/close program. It stays open all the time and there's a little icon in the top right corner of the screen at all times to give you access whenever you want. I found it kinda annoying, but if you wanna install then uninstall it like I did, it's great. =D
